Chevrolet to Add New Multi-Flex Tailgate to 2021 Silverado Trucks

September 16th, 2020 by

Some exciting news to share with all fans of Chevrolet Trucks, especially the Chevrolet Silverado. Today, Chevrolet confirmed a new tailgate option on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado. This new flexible tailgate will be called the Multi-Flex tailgate and will be like that of the Multi-Pro offered by the Silverado’s cousin over at GMC.

The Multi-Flex tailgate can be unfolded into six different configurations. Some of the more popular uses for this tailgate include a bed step and a bed extender. You can also use it as a workbench. Personally, I have experimented with this tailgate on the related GM truck and must say that the bed step alone is worth it.

Among other benefits of the Multi-Flex tailgate is the ease of access to cargo, and versatility. If you need to haul longer items, there is a configuration for that. If you need to access your cargo easier, there is a configuration for that.

Trim availability is still unknown currently. However, Chevrolet has released official images with the High Country model. We have been selling Chevy Trucks for as long as Chevrolet has. So, the LTZ trim will likely get this too. We would not be surprised to see it on more models though. Chevrolet offers features like the 6.2-liter V8 on a variety of trims now. At one time this was only reserved for the top of the line trucks. We are also waiting to hear if this option will be available on the 2021 Silverado Heavy Duty trucks as well. It is likely a safe bet, though.
